Important Work - Because The Promises of Tomorrow Can't Wait

The School of Public Health is a national academic leader in the delivery of cancer prevention and early detection programs.  The School’s large statewide health delivery programs in HIV/AIDS education and training, tobacco cessation, and comprehensive cancer control provide a rich learning opportunity for masters and PhD students.  Public health faculty are currently studying metabolic syndrome and obesity prevention in children, the influence of neighborhood environment on a variety of health outcomes, the causes of the poorer survival and poorer prognosis in African American men with prostate cancer,  as well as other cutting edge research.
